Elke Schropp is a project officer at the European Bureau for Research on Industrial Transformation and Emissions (EU-BRITE) in the Unit for Circular Economy and Sustainable Industry (B5) of the Joint Research Centre in Seville. In this position, she is involved in the development and review of best available techniques reference documents (BREFs), currently focusing on the surface treatment of metals and plastics (STM).

Before joining the Joint Research Centre, she worked at the Technical University of Munich as a research associate in the field of environmental impacts and material criticality related to renewable energy technologies.
