Abstract: PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) have been used by various industries for many years due to their unique constellation of properties, such as resistance to heat, water, oil, and chemicals. In recent years they have been facing increasing scrutiny in Europe, with 5 countries submitting the U-PFAS restriction under the REACH Regulation in 2023.
This presentation will showcase Cefic’s work on PFAS and provide updates on the process of the U-PFAS restriction and its potential impact for the European Aluminium industry.
