Transformation towards lower carbon emission powder coatings value chain

Abstract: Pioneering at paints and coatings industry and setting the standard in sustainability comes with pushing the boundaries. We innovate with and for customers and play a progressive and collaborative role in energizing entire industries to advance towards a more sustainable future.

Being committed not only to reduce our own carbon footprint at AkzoNobel but also having the ambition to reduce our Scope 3 footprint by 50% in 2030 means strong collaboration need in the entire value chain. (Close cooperation with our value chain partners is key to achieve our goal and we are working together with both our suppliers as well as customers to reducing our value chain carbon emissions.) Sustainability targets have been formulated by numerous stakeholders globally. However there is little reference to how a green transformation can be achieved along
complex value chains, what the sustainability framework parameters and key levers are to achieve transformation towards a lower carbon emission powder coatings by fostering a collaborative and innovative supplier ecosystem. This collaboration shows how to bring products
with lower energy and carbon with longer lasting properties.
